7 Starz Studio was founded in 2007 by sisters Cathy Thompson and Marcy Lasiter-Scott (1963–2018). What began as two sisters sharing a love for photography and art has grown into a multi-generational, Cherokee-owned creative studio.
Our goal from the beginning was simple: to share positive, current imagery of Native Americans and the natural beauty that surrounds our lives.
Today, 7 Starz Studio continues as a family collaboration. Leah (Cathy’s daughter) and Jenny (Marcy’s daughter) have stepped into Marcy’s role, helping lead new projects and collections while honoring her vision and creativity.
Most of our current work focuses on fine-art photography created for the Cherokee Nation, along with the Talking Leaves Collection by 7 Starz Studio—a line of Cherokee-language greeting cards and gifts that celebrate everyday life, humor, and heritage.
We now take on limited sports photography alongside select portrait sessions—kept close to our hearts by Caty B, our emerging fine-art artist and absolute stud on the softball field. With college in full swing, her studio work is currently on the back burner.
Fine-Art Prints: We’ll be offering prints for sale as we roll out our online selections—stay tuned for availability and details.
